North of Boston, OTR ready
Owner-Operator CDL-A OTR Jobs in New Hampshire
Where does a New Hampshire driver go for OTR work? South, mostly. Boston's distribution centers sit an hour down I-93 from Manchester, and from there the whole Northeast opens up. The state's own freight is a mix of Boston area deliveries, the Manchester and Nashua markets and the Seacoast around Portsmouth. Living here puts you a short hop from the corridors that matter.

That is why MB Global Logistics recruits owner-operators who live in New Hampshire, in every season, as independent contractors. The search for owner operator jobs in New Hampshire often turns up local work only. This is different: CDL A OTR runs, 2 years of experience required, rental equipment, and a short form to get the conversation started.
Potential take-home pay
What can you clear? Take-home starts at $2,500+ per week after all expenses. It varies with your experience and other factors, and many New Hampshire owner-operators earn more. Ask the recruiter how the number is built.

How our owner-operator program works
01
Contractor terms
Independent contractor is the only arrangement on this program. You are a business working with MB Global, you settle your own expenses, and you are never on the payroll. Think of it as your operation plugged into our freight.
02
Rental equipment
The tractor is rented, not sold. MB Global has no lease-purchase option and no path to owning the truck through us. You run it while contracted, with no payoff and no buyout.
03
Two to three weeks out
All freight is OTR. We suggest 2 to 3 weeks on the road and then a few days home in New Hampshire. Treat that as a guideline. Miles and home time are not promised to anyone.
Freight corridors OTR drivers run from New Hampshire
Two things stand out in the May 2025 BLS data for New Hampshire. The median wage for heavy and tractor-trailer drivers is above the national median, and the state does not tax wages. Freight itself moves between the Boston area distribution centers and the Manchester and Nashua markets, with the Seacoast adding port and retail volume. Looking ahead, the state projects about 5.2 percent job growth for this occupation from 2024 to 2034. It is a small market, but drivers here are positioned close to the Northeast's busiest lanes.
I-93 is the main line, running north from the Massachusetts border through Manchester and Concord to the White Mountains and on to Vermont. The F.E. Everett Turnpike carries traffic through Nashua and Manchester. From Concord, I-89 heads northwest to Lebanon and the Vermont line. On the coast, I-95 and the Spaulding Turnpike serve the Seacoast and Portsmouth, with Maine just across the river.
New Hampshire tolls and winter
New England 511 covers New Hampshire road conditions. The state turnpike system, including the Everett and Spaulding turnpikes and the I-95 stretch, is tolled and accepts E-ZPass, so get a transponder sorted before you run. Winter is part of the job here: snow and ice on I-93 through Franconia Notch or I-89 toward Vermont can slow a run for a day or more.
New Hampshire driver employment data

Truck drivers employed
$60,280
Median annual wage
770
Openings a year
In May 2025, BLS counted 6,960 heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers in New Hampshire. The median wage was $60,280 a year, above the U.S. figure of $58,640. State projections span 2024 to 2034, moving employment from 7,160 to 7,530, which works out to about 770 openings a year. Small numbers, but a wage that beats the national median in a state with no tax on wages. One note: these figures cover wage and salary drivers, not owner-operator earnings, so they are context, not a forecast for contractors.
Orientation, travel and lodging
Orientation
Remote sessions first, then an in-person stretch at our terminal.
Lodging
Your room during in-person orientation is fully paid by MB Global.
Travel
Travel is booked and paid in advance by MB Global, then charged back on settlements at $50 per week.
Orientation has a remote half you do from home and an in-person half at our terminal. MB Global pays the lodging in full. For the travel, a New Hampshire driver might fly out of Manchester or Boston, and MB Global arranges and pays that up front, then takes it back at $50 per week. Ask the recruiter how many weeks the chargeback runs and how it shows up.
See if you pre-qualify
Not sure you qualify? Six questions settle it in about a minute. It is not the full application, and it reaches the recruiting team only, never an advertising or analytics tool.
Your answers go only to our recruiting team. We never share them with advertising or analytics tools.

New Hampshire owner-operator FAQs
Is winter driving on I-93 a problem for OTR schedules?
It can be, and that is no secret. Snow and ice on I-93 and I-89 are normal from late fall into spring, and New England 511 posts closures and conditions. Since OTR runs take you well beyond New Hampshire, the harder question is often how the weather is at the far end of the trip.
Which tolls will I hit leaving New Hampshire?
The state turnpike system is tolled: the Everett Turnpike through Nashua and Manchester, the Spaulding on the Seacoast, and the I-95 stretch near Hampton. All of it accepts E-ZPass. Ask the recruiter how tolls are handled on the program so you are not surprised on your first settlement.
There are only 6,960 drivers in the state. Is that a concern?
Not for OTR work. Those 6,960 drivers in the May 2025 BLS count are wage and salary drivers working in New Hampshire. Your loads as an OTR owner-operator come from across the country, not from the local market, so the size of the state has little to do with how much freight you move.
Does living in New Hampshire help with taxes?
New Hampshire does not tax wages, which is one reason the median wage figure here goes further than in some neighboring states. How that plays out for an independent contractor depends on how you structure your business, so talk to a tax professional. MB Global does not give tax advice.
Is there a hiring window for New Hampshire?
No. MB Global hires owner-operators who live in New Hampshire year-round, with no quota per state and no opening to wait for. If you meet the six requirements, you can send the form today, in January or in July. The next step is the same either way: a recruiter calls to walk through the program.
What are the six requirements, in one place?
A valid Class A CDL with no endorsements needed, at least 2 years of OTR experience, no DUI or DWI on your record, no SAP history, a current DOT medical card, and a home address in New Hampshire. That is the whole list. Pass all six and the pre-qualifying form is the next step.
